What do treatment and rehabilitation look like?

Treatment and rehabilitation for concussions is broken up into five areas:

1: Exercise Therapy : Following a short period of symptom-limited activity, guided exercise therapy helps improve blood flow and speed up recovery.

2: Manual Therapy : Headaches , balance issues, dizziness, and blood flow abnormalities are symptoms of both whiplash and concussions. These issues can be treated with manual therapy.

3:Visual And Vestibular Therapy: Visual disturbances and dizziness are common following a concussion. A balance and visual rehabilitation program may help to reduce symptoms.

4: Education And Reassurance: Education and Reassurance are an important part of concussion care. Understanding what is going on and why can help with recovery.

5:Diet And Nutritional Intervention: Avoiding pro-inflammatory foods (ie. processed meats, fast food, and sugar)and replacing them with more nutritious foods may help to reduce symptoms
